HRIS online graphics evaluation 2010

We have evaluated our online young people's illustrations and alternative formats icons:

  • To ensure that the graphics are appropriate, we circulated a survey to members of the HRIS network and to Consumer Focus Scotland Consumer Network ePanel members (a copy of our evaluation report is available here).

HRIS project evaluation 2008

Stakeholder Evaluation Report. George Street Research was commissioned by HRIS to conduct an independent evaluation to establish the views of the current stakeholders. HRIS were also keen to establish the views of users of the information namely, the general public.

The key aims of this study were:

  • To establish the extent to which key organisational stakeholders consider that HRIS has been able to fulfil its role in terms of:
    • Producing information about patients’ rights
    • Providing support for other bodies that produce patient information.
  • To establish the awareness and usefulness of health rights information among the general public.

How the NHS use HRIS information

We have evaluated how NHS boards are using the following information:

  • our 'Making a complaint about the NHS' and 'The NHS and You' information leaflets (2006);
  • our information in other languages and formats (2005); and
  • our 'Confidentiality - it's your right' and 'How to see your health records' information leaflets (2004).

Evaluation report: Use of 'Making a complaint about the NHS' and 'The NHS and You' by NHS boards. Early in 2006 we carried out an evaluation exercise to find out how boards are making use of our 'Making a complaint about the NHS' and 'The NHS and You' information (standard leaflets and the alternative formats). The exercise was carried out in a similar way to the other evaluations described on this page.

Evaluation report: How are our alternative formats being used by NHS boards? At the end of 2005, we carried out an evaluation exercise to find out how NHS boards have used the alternative formats of our first two leaflets ‘Confidentiality – it’s your right’ and ‘How to see your health records’. Our named contact at each NHS board was asked to respond to a series of questions about:

  • the uptake of our information in alternative formats;
  • feedback received from patients and carers;
  • awareness of the formats amongst relevant groups and organisations;
  • ways of increasing the availability of our information to patients.

Evaluation report: Use of HRIS information products by NHS boards In 2004, we finalised the production of out two patient information leaflets: 'Confidentiality - it's your right' and 'How to see your health records'. We also designed a poster publicising the availability of the 'Confidentiality - it's your right' leaflet.

To increase the accessibility of this information, we produced the leaflets in a number of different formats. We sent master CDs of our information products to all local NHS boards throughout Scotland, and to four special health boards for use in their health board areas.

To ensure we were meeting our aim of reducing the burden of information production on NHS boards, we carried out an evaluation of how boards were making use of our first two information products. This was done using a short questionnaire which was sent to our contact at each NHS board.
