Scoping reports
Before HRIS develops new patient information, we had to prove that it is needed. To decide if a new leaflet or factsheet will be useful we may carry out a scoping report. This involves desk based research, consultation with stakeholders and searching for existing or similar patient information.

- In 2011, we carried out a scoping exercise to establish whether there is a need for new information about access to NHS services for Scottish residents who spend extended periods overseas.
