Factsheets for overseas visitors - new versions online
We have just completed the yearly review of seven factsheets explaining the circumstances under which particular groups of overseas visitors are entitled to NHS care in Scotland.
The factsheets are for people coming to Scotland to work, people coming to Scotland to study, asylum seekers and refugees in Scotland, former UK residents now working abroad, UK passport holders living abroad, UK pensioners visiting Scotland and holidaymakers from overseas. You can find them in the Patient information section of our website.
All the factsheets are (or will be) published to the website in a variety of formats, including:
- large print
- translated versions in a number of languages
- English audio versions
- translated audio versions (information for asylum seekers and refugees only)
- British Sign Language (BSL).
We assessed the various groups’ needs for alternative formats in consultation with NHS staff, patients, and members of the public. Not all the factsheets are available in all the formats, and not all the formats are online yet. Please keep checking this website for updates. Alternatively, you can subscribe to our news feeds or quarterly newsletter.
