Primary care services

We have worked with the Scottish Government Health Directorates to produce a series of leaflets to explain changes that are happening to primary care services.

leaflet covers
  • The Minor Ailment Service at your local pharmacy

  • The Minor Ailment Service leaflet describes an NHS service for children, people aged 60 or over, people who hold a medical exemption certificate and people on certain benefits.  If this applies to you, you can get medicines or treatments for a minor illness or complaint free of charge from your pharmacist without a prescription from your GP. The leaflet is also available on the Scottish Government website.

  • The NHS Chronic Medication Service at your local pharmacy

  • This leaflet tells you about a service for people with a long-term condition. The Chronic Medication Service is available at pharmacies across Scotland. This information is also available on the Scottish Government website.
