British Medical Association
The British Medical Association represents doctors from all branches of medicine all over the UK.
Equality and Human Rights Commission
Established
on 1 October 2007, the Equality and Human Rights Commission is a
non-departmental public body. It builds on the work of the commissions
it replaces (the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Commission for
Racial Equality, and the Disability Rights Commission) and takes on
responsibility for the other aspects of equality: age, sexual
orientation and religion or belief, as well as human rights.
General Medical Council (GMC)
The purpose of the GMC is to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards of doctors in the practice of medicine.
Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland
The Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland is an independent organisation working to safeguard the rights and welfare of everyone with a mental illness, learning disability or other mental disorder.
Office of the Public Guardian
The Office of the Public Guardian has a general function to supervise those individuals who have been appointed to manage the financial or property affairs of an adult who lacks the capacity to do so for themselves.
Scottish Government
The devolved Government for Scotland is responsible for most of the issues of day-to-day concern to the people of Scotland, including health, education, justice, rural affairs, and transport.
Scottish Information Commissioner's Office
The Commissioner is appointed to interpret, promote and enforce the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act, making sure that public authorities release information you are entitled to see.
Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO)
The SPSO provides a 'one-stop-shop' for individuals making complaints about organisations providing public services in Scotland.
UK Information Commissioner
The Information Commissioner's Office is the UK's independent authority set up to promote access to official information and to protect personal information.
