Emergency care summary

We have worked in collaboration with the Scottish Government Health Directorates to produce a booklet informing patients about changes in the way that their medical information is used and stored. It focuses on something called the emergency care summary which is designed to ensure safer medical care when GP surgeries are closed.

The leaflet 'Your Emergency Care Summary: What does it mean for you?' is available on the Scottish Government's website as a PDF file, or you can view it as text only.

A shorter piece of information was produced for all GP surgeries, to be used before the Scottish Government leaflet was published.  This information ‘Your emergency care summary’ is a short leaflet giving details of the emergency care summary. It is also available from GP surgeries. An Emergency Care Summary poster promoting this leaflet was also produced for display in GP surgeries.
